Guitarist Edgar Cruz to Perform at the Prairie House
Oklahoma’s own Edgar Cruz, International Guitarist Extraordinaire, will be the special guest performer at the Foreman Prairie House as the foundation once again presents “The Glow of Christmas”, on Monday, December 03, 2012. The “Cruz Gala Luncheon” will be from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM, with lunch being served promptly at 11:30, and Mr. Cruz’s performance beginning at 12:30 PM. The event is by special invitation only, with invitations being shown at the door.
A delightful noon meal will be prepared by Mrs. Betty Davis, one of Duncan’s best loved caterers. The food will be served in the living/dining area of the Foreman Prairie House by volunteers who agree to help that day
Twenty six people who responded immediately to Ms Gail’s inquiry about holding such an event will be entertained by Cruz “up close and personal.” Mr Cruz is acclaimed worldwide for his expertise in guitar. He is an independent classical and fingerstyle guitarist from Oklahoma City. He works closely with the Oklahoma Arts Council, and holds a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance from Oklahoma City University. He was the first person to earn such a degree! He and his brother, Mark Anthony Cruz follow their father Manual Cruz’ footsteps as they play for restaurant customers as strolling artists, as well. Cruz had performed in North America, South America, and in Europe. The Foreman Prairie House is indeed proud to present this wonderful

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, FROM THE FOREMAN PRAIRIE HOUSE!!
Glow of Christmas Candlelight Tour
Beginning December 1, 2012
The “Glow of Christmas” 2012 will welcome visitors, as always, by having all forty-seven windows lit with a candle (to show the stranger his way). This tradition was established by Founder, Ms. Gail, when the W. T. Foreman home was purchased and renovated by a grass roots movement in Duncan, OK. from 2001 to 2007.
Each year the Christmas celebration may vary, but there is always a “Glow” about the house for the holidays.
This year we will again welcome visitors as they encourage little children to sit by the fireside and be read a Christmas story, perhaps by Mrs. Claus! Meanwhile, others may tour upstairs and down to find the house “aglow” with the Christmas Spirit, and perhaps “bump into” one of the Foreman family from the past!
Decorated each year by Thanksgiving week-end, you may tour the house between 10 AM and 4 PM on Friday and Saturday of that week. Tours are free, but donations of $3.00 or so are always appreciated, as this house is run entirely on donations and fundraisers by the not for profit organization, a 501(c)3.
This two story brick 1918 home is architecturally significant to all, as it may be the best brick example of a prairie style home (made popular by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright), perhaps in all of Oklahoma. Historically, it was built for pharmacist W. T. Foreman, one of Duncan’s earliest, most prominent pioneers, and was the most expensive house in town, at a cost of $8,000.00. Structurally, it is said to be built of only the finest materials, with excellent craftsmanship. “A must see when in Duncan.”
Open by telephoning for an appointment between Thanksgiving and December 15th. Call 580-251-0027 or 580-255-4199 to visit.
